We woke up around 6:45am, got ready for the day while having breakfast and left for San Miguel Middle School around 8am. Once we arrived at San Miguel we met the President of the School named John. He told us about the history of the school as well as demographics and success rates. It was interesting to hear about it before we dove in. He then gave us a mini tour of the school as well as brought us to a local Mexican bakery in town where he graciously bought us all treats.

We then went back to the school and were placed within classrooms, including math, science, language arts, social studies, theology and hallway duty. We then had lunch as a whole school together, then recess and then classroom time again. We all enjoyed out respective placements and cannot wait to dive in deeper throughout the week.

We then went out to dinner with the brothers and some of the faculty of the school. We went to a lovely pizzeria downtown with delicious garlic knots dipped in alfredo sauce as well as HUGE pizza slices of all kinds. We then came back, had reflection on the day and talked about service and what it meant to us and what it means for this trip. We all were very tired so early night for us but were excited for the next day.
