Today was our final day in the school. Coming in to the trip I was not sure how I was going to feel about the experience, but leaving I am much sadder than I anticipated. Our last day in the school was nothing too special, just a normal day compared to the rest… but leaving was the saddest part of the day. One of the students said to me and Emma, “I cry every Friday night because our immersion students leave us.” This really hit me. Although throughout the week I was questioning if I was making an impact on the students’ due to groups coming in and out each week, her comment reassured me that even though we are only there for a short time we are able to make an impact on their lives.

Returning to the mission, we concocted a supper of all our leftovers: frozen pizza, burritos, quesadillas, and tons of different snacks. We closed the night with a discussion on community. We talked about the community within our group, the community of Browning, and community in general. To finish off the night, everyone packed to be prepared for our early morning and played a few games before everyone headed off to bed.
